چکیده
Cavitation generation methods have been applied in multifarious directions due to their diversity. And scholars carried out numerous researches and discussions on cavitation methods. The purpose of this study is explore the generating mechanism evolution law volumetric alternate (VAC). In VAC, liquid water placed an airtight container with variable volume. With volume alternately changes, inside continues cavitate. study, mixture turbulence model in-cylinder dynamic grid were used apply computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation cavitation. simulation, cloud images at 7 heights central axis are monitored, phenomenon height eccentricity analyzed detailedly. By using method flow visualization (CFV), clarified. synergistic effects experiments high-speed camera capture confirm simulation. experiment, change stroke 20 mm, frequency 18 Hz, shooting set 10000 fps. results show that position occurring has a reasonable during whole cycle cloud. It evident alternation corresponds generation, development collapse stages bubbles.

Numerical Simulation of Cavitation in Mixed Flow Pump
The purpose of this study is to investigate the performance and three-dimensional behavior of the flow in a mixed flow pump and the way cavitation phenomenon is affected by different parameters such as fluid temperature, pump speed and flow rate. Computational fluid dynamic software FLUENT 6.3 was utilized to simulate the whole flow field of the pump. RNG k-ε model combined with standard wall f...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Partial Cavitation over Axisymmetric Bodies: VOF Method vs. Potential Flow Theory
A computational study of partial cavitation over axisymmetric bodies is presented using two numerical methods. The first method is based on the VOF technique where transient 2D Navier-Stokes equations are solved along with an equation to track the cavity interface. Next, the steady boundary element method (BEM) based on potential flow theory is presented. The results of the two methods for a di...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Investigation of Cavitation in Axial Pumps
Axial pumps have a wide range of applications, and cavitation is one of the main causes of there performance degradation. So, the present study investigates experimentally and numerically the performance of cavitating axial pumps. In this study a three-dimensional Navier-Stokes code was used (CFDRC, 2004) to model the two-phase flow field around a four blades axial pump. The governing equations...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Turbulent Flows with Sheet Cavitation
A pressure-based algorithm is developed and applied to compute turbulent sheet cavitating flows. Single-fluid Navier-Stokes equations, cast in their conservative form, along with a volume fraction transport equation are employed. The flow is computed in both phases with the vapor pressure recovered inside the cavity via a mass transfer model. A pressure-velocity-density coupling scheme along wi...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of an Ultrasonic Vibratory Cavitation Device
As an experimental quantitative method to assess erosion risk, the acoustic emission (AE) technique has been employed, for example, by Lloyds Register for more than a decade now to complement their borescopic cavitation observation at the ship scale. Boorsma and Fitzsimmons (2009) reported (see Fig. 1,) its correlation with borescope observed cavitation events appeared very positive and the loc...
